Pokémon fans of all ages have a new reason to visit Fountains Abbey this weekend, as the Pikachu Art Adventure gets under way.
The autumn trail features 30 Pikachu cards, each brought to life by a different illustrator. Visitors can follow the trail around the estate, discover facts about the famous Pokémon character and design their own Pikachu trading card before getting it stamped at Fountains Mill.

If you’re a super-fan but not free this weekend don’t fear – the trail will be running for the whole month, it just launches this weekend. Plus, you don’t have to book ahead and there’s no extra fee.
Normal admission applies, 9.30am-4.30pm, various dates from October 3, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, near Ripon.

Pateley Bridge Makers Yard
Fancy learning a new skill? Head into Nidderdale on Sunday for a hands-on natural dyeing workshop at Pateley Makers Yard.
The three-hour session with spinning and dyeing specialist Anna Greenwood will explore how plants and natural materials can be used to create different colours. Participants will make their own natural dye colour card, building a palette of dyed shades from skeins of wool, with materials and equipment provided.
The workshop is aimed at beginners as well as those with some previous experience and is suitable for anyone aged 14 and over.

For a Saturday night out, The Bootleg Beatles arrive at Harrogate’s Royal Hall as part of their latest tour.
The tribute band will perform songs from five of The Beatles’ best-selling albums – Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The ‘White Album’ and Abbey Road – bringing the music of the Fab Four to the stage with a full backing band.
The show is part of a busy weekend of entertainment in Harrogate, and should appeal to Beatles fans as well as anyone looking for a nostalgic night out.

Ripon Apple Day
Autumn has arrived at Ripon Walled Garden, where Apple Day returns this Saturday with a family-friendly celebration of the humble fruit.
Bring along your own apples to be pressed into juice, then enjoy orchard games, live music, balloon modelling, a petting farm and woodland walks. There will also be a café and shop serving homemade treats, making it a relaxed way to spend a Saturday.
The event is raising money for Ripon Walled Garden, a charity that supports those with learning and physical disabilities, with donations collected at the gate.

Yorkshire Baby and Toddler Show.
Families with babies and toddlers – and little ones on the way - can head to the Yorkshire Baby and Toddler Show at the Pavilions of Harrogate this weekend.
The event brings together businesses and organisations offering everything from baby and toddler products and services to advice for new and expectant parents. There will also be free activities for children, along with parenting advice and first-aid sessions, alongside the opportunity to connect with midwives, pregnancy experts, and baby specialists.
It’s a chance to browse, pick up ideas for life with little ones and speak to a range of family-focused exhibitors, all under one roof.
