Harrogate's professional orchestra, Cuore Chamber Orchestra, will launch its 2026/27 season with a homecoming concert at the Royal Hall tomorrow (Friday, November 6).
Founded by conductor William Dutton in spring 2025, Cuore was established to bring high-quality orchestral music to local audiences, reducing the need to travel to major cities such as Birmingham and Manchester to enjoy performances of this standard.
You can read our interview with Mr Dutton here.
The orchestra's debut season featured a series of performances with internationally acclaimed soloists, including pianist Oxana Shevchenko and violinist Jack Liebeck.
For Friday's concert, the orchestra will be joined by British-Polish violinist Jennifer Pike for a performance of Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3.
Mozart will feature prominently in the programme, with his Symphony No. 29 also on the bill.
The evening will also include Grieg's Holberg Suite and the Yorkshire premiere of Meditations, a work by British composer Michael Berkeley, presenter of BBC Radio 3's Private Passions.
The concert marks the start of an ambitious season of performances across Yorkshire, with dates lined up in York on November 26, Leeds on March 4 and Harrogate's West Park Centre on March 5, before the season concludes with a return to the Royal Hall on June 12.
Cuore has also strengthened its organisation since the end of its inaugural season, appointing Natalie McKeown as its new head of fundraising.
