How much your area of Harrogate costs to buy in – plus how much prices have changed
Harrogate is known as one of the poshest areas to live in Yorkshire – but house prices tell a more nuanced story.
In the two-year period between May 2024 and May 2026, the median average price for a house sale was £306,000. However, the average varied hugely by area – ranging from £150,000 in High Harrogate and Kingsley to over £2 million in Oatlands and Pannal.
Even more surprisingly, Harrogate is split down the middle when it comes to percentage change in price, with almost 50% of the areas risen and 50% fallen. The range within the town runs from a drop of 9.2% value to a rise in 11.9%.
The steepest fall sits in Killinghall, Hampsthwaite and Saltergate and the strongest rise in Harlow and St. Georges.

The data is based on figures from HM Land Registry sold prices, including only ‘Category A’ entries (a residential property sold at full market value), analysed by Housometer, using the most recently published sales information.
