Plans have been revealed for up to 53 homes at Hornbeam Park in Harrogate.
Hornbeam Park Developments is planning to submit an outline planning application to North Yorkshire Council for the scheme, which would be built on land west of Hornbeam Park Avenue.
The plan would include a mixture of one to four-bedroom homes, as well as 21 affordable homes.
The proposal could also have the potential for up to 32 additional affordable homes, subject to agreement with the council.
It could also include access from Hornbeam Park Avenue, a woodland walk and improvements to an existing public footpath.
According to a consultation on the plans, which is being carried out by Johnson Mowat, the scheme would help to tackle a need for housing in the area.
It said:
There is a significant need for new housing in the Harrogate area. The Ccuncil's published position identifies a housing land supply of 2.2 years, substantially below the five-year supply required to meet on-going housing need in the district.”
The proposals would make a timely contribution towards addressing this shortfall, providing up to 53 new homes in a well-connected location adjoining the existing Hornbeam Park Estate.
The developer added that the plans at this stage were “illustrative” and matters such as access, layout, landscaping, scale and appearance would be considered at a later stage.
A consultation into the plan is currently being held and will end on September 29.
