Harrogate Gail's, which will be based on James Street.

Ever since news broke that Gail’s was coming to Harrogate, bakery fans have been waiting with bated breath.

With the internal building work hidden by some beautiful local art, we have only been able to imagine what the new shop will look like inside.

The company confirmed its opening of a Harrogate store in April. Now, it has revealed further plans for the bakery.

Based at the former site of Russell and Bromley on James Street, new floor plans released as part of a planning application show what the proposed layout is.

It appears that the left hand wall will mostly consist of the counter where the baked goods will be laid out, as well and the till and coffee machines, while seating will be on the right.

There is set to be three tables in the window, with two large tables in the centre of the room, which seat eight. A booth then runs along the wall, with chairs opposite in table groups of one or two.

The plans also show the signage to be installed at the bakery. There will be an illuminated main sign across the top of the shop, as well as a projecting sign from the wall and an A board on the street outside.

While no official opening date has been confirmed, builders informally told a reporter that the building work would be complete in two weeks.

Gail’s is a London-based bakery, offering a mix of sweet and savoury goods to eat in or takeaway. This will be the first store in Yorkshire, and the furthest north, with the closest one currently in Manchester.

The bakery has more than 180 branches, mainly across London and the South East, and plans to open a further 40 over the coming months.
