The sun may have been shining in Harrogate today, but there was a distinctly spooky feeling in the town centre – thanks to a couple of characters called Trick and Treat.

The oddball duo – who toured the streets to the strains of Ghost Town by The Specials and Thriller by Michael Jackson – told the Stray Ferret they'd come to entertain shoppers at Halloween with "comedy, music and magic".

The pair came to bring comedy, music and magic to Harrogate town centre.

In reality, the pair are actors from Markmark Productions, a street theatre company based at Barnsley Civic, and were hired by Harrogate BID to bring life – or perhaps the living dead – to the town centre.

Trick and Treat will be back in town tomorrow (Saturday, October 31), and Markmark performers will return to Harrogate as the Dubstep Elves on three Saturdays in December.
