A Starbeck restaurant has won top prize at a national awards ceremony.
Starbeck Tandoori, which is based on High Street, picked up Restaurant of the Year at 19th Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Awards 2026.
The winner’s trophy was presented during a ceremony on November 1 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London.
The Starbeck restaurant fended off competition from the likes of Babul’s and Cafe Spice in Darlington and Vadah in Stockton-on-Tees.
Oli Khan, BCA president, said:
Congratulations to Starbeck Tandoori on a thoroughly deserved win. Their achievement reflects the talent, commitment and resilience that continue to drive British Bangladeshi hospitality forward.
The judging panel assessed restaurants on food quality, service, hospitality, presentation, consistency, innovation and the overall customer experience.
Guests attending the ceremony included His Excellency Mohammed Abdul Muhith, High Commissioner for Bangladesh to the United Kingdom, alongside Seema Malhotra MP, Kevin Bonavia MP, Rupa Haque MP, Sir James Cleverly MP, Daniel Zeichner MP, Lord Karan Bilimoria, Lord Qurban Hussain and Lord Rami Ranger.
