The Ripon branch of TGJones will close in just over two months' time, the company has revealed.
The Stray Ferret broke the news on Saturday that the store, on Market Place, is to cease trading.
WHSmith operated on the site for 90 years until last year, when the business rebranded.
Closing-down signs in the shop window are offering 30% off as TGJones looks to clear its remaining stock.
Private equity firm Modella Capital bought WHSmith's former high-street business last year and subsequently rebranded it as TGJones.
It has said the retailer is unviable in its current form and has shut 36 stores in 2026. It expects to close a further 34 by early 2027.
Ripon's last day of trading will be January 23.
A TGJones spokesperson said:
As we work to secure the long-term future of TGJones, we have confirmed that our Ripon shop will close. We know this will be disappointing news for our colleagues, customers and the local community. Our focus now is on supporting those affected and continuing to serve customers throughout the closure period.
The company did not respond to questions from the Stray Ferret asking how many staff are affected by the closure.
TGJones has closed its York branch, and its Scarborough site is due to shut in January.
Both locations contained post offices, raising questions over the future of Harrogate's TGJones, which houses the town's main post office.
Post Office Ltd told the Stray Ferret last week it hadn't received formal resignation from TGJones for the Harrogate branch.
However, the closure of so many local branches will have left residents feeling uneasy about the branch's future.
