A candlelit tribute to Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd by Candlelight comes to Ripon Cathedral this Friday, bringing a live performance to one of North Yorkshire’s most atmospheric historic venues.

Performed by the acclaimed UK tribute band What The Floyd, the concert features a setlist of iconic tracks including Another Brick in the Wall, Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, Us and Them and Shine On You Crazy Diamond. 

The event brings together rock music and sacred architecture for an immersive live experience celebrating one of the most influential bands in music history.

Open doors: North Yorkshire’s biggest art trail returns

One of the UK’s largest and most celebrated open studio events, North Yorkshire Open Studios returns over two weekends this June, bringing together more than 200 artists and makers from across the county.

Taking place this weekend on 6–7 and next weekend on 13–14 June, the artist-led festival offers a rare opportunity to step inside working studios, meet artists in the places where they create their pieces, and gain insight into the processes behind their work.

From the dramatic landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors to the county’s towns, villages and coastal communities, visitors can discover an extraordinary breadth of contemporary practice spanning painting, ceramics, printmaking, textiles, jewellery, sculpture, photography and mixed media.

A summer evening of song

Nidderdale Community Choir welcomes audiences to its Summer Concert at Pateley Bridge and Bewerley Memorial Hall this Saturday, showcasing the talents of one of the area's most established community ensembles.

Bringing together singers from across Nidderdale and the surrounding villages, the choir's annual summer performance offers an evening of choral music in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

The programme combines popular songs with medleys from the musicals Oklahoma! and Oliver!, alongside performances by soloists, a classical interlude and a rousing audience sing-along.

See lots of tractors at this year's Tractor Fest

Held in the grounds of Newby Hall & Gardens, Tractor Fest returns this weekend as the UK’s largest vintage tractor and engine show.

Organised by the Yorkshire Vintage Association in partnership with Newby Hall, the event brings together more than 2,000 exhibits, including over 1,000 tractors, alongside vintage machinery, engines, specialist displays, food, drink and family attractions.

Set within more than 120 acres of historic parkland, this year’s festival features themed showcases celebrating Scottish-built machinery, 80 years of Zetor, and motor rollers, while giving visitors access to Newby Hall’s award-winning gardens.

A celebration of countryside sports

This year’s Northern Country Sports Show returns to the nearby Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, bringing together a broad programme of countryside sports, rural skills and outdoor pursuits. 

The event features live demonstrations, interactive displays and specialist exhibitors, highlighting both traditional field sports and modern country lifestyle activities. 

Across the showground, visitors can explore trade stands, working demonstrations and equipment displays that reflect the diversity and continued popularity of rural sports and country living in the region. 

Visitors can attend for a day or the entire weekend with overnight camping available.
