Plans have been revealed to build another 95 homes in Scotton.

Developer Caddick has targeted land to the east of Havikil Lane and north of Ripley Road, on the edge of the village.

Planning consultants Lichfield have leafleted homes in the village about the proposed development.

The leaflets invite residents to have their say as part of a public consultation before a formal planning application is submitted.

They say:

“The emerging proposal has been informed by specialist survey work and designed having consideration for the character and setting of Scotton.”

There are already plans to build 85 homes in Scotton.

Bellway submitted an application in June to develop 20 acres of land north of Ripley Road.

Last month, North Yorkshire Council deferred a decision on whether to allow Boom Energy to build a 236-acre solar farm on land at Lawrence House Farm in Scotton after 244 objections were received.
