Harrogate man who has ‘flagrant disregard for court orders’ jailed
A Harrogate man who failed to appear in court after breaching a restraining order has been jailed.
Adam Snowdon, 34, was sentenced at York Magistrates Court on Saturday (June 27) after admitting the offence at a previous hearing.
Snowdon, who had previously failed to appear in court on June 15 for the offence, breached the order by contacting a named victim on Parliament Street on May 10 this year when he was prohibited from doing so.
Court documents said the restraining order was imposed by York Crown Court in September 2023.
Snowdon also pleaded guilty in court to an assault by beating charge on June 23 in Ripon.
Magistrates sentenced Snowdon, of Otley Road, to 22 weeks in prison.
According to court documents, the prison sentence was reached as the 34-year-old had “a flagrant disregard for court orders”.
