A new hot yoga and pilates studio run by a collective of independent trainers will open in Harrogate on Sunday (June 28).
Trainer Emily Diamond told the Stray Ferret the Sweat Lab would fill a gap in the market since the closure of Ebru Evrim on James Street.
She said:
When the town's previous hot yoga studio closed, we knew there was a real gap. Not only did we miss teaching in a heated space, but we knew there were so many people in the Harrogate community who missed practising in one too.
The facility, which is based at Ashville Sports Centre, includes a room heated to 37 to 40 degrees centigrade to help turn yoga into a cardio-based workout.
The classes aim to improve flexibility, mobility, and leave participants feeling stronger and energised.
The team added in an email to the Stray Ferret:

Every instructor at Sweat Lab brings something different, and that's what makes it so exciting. We can't wait to share our individual styles while building something bigger together.
Ten hot yoga and pilates classes are being run each week as part of the studio’s summer schedule, alongside one–to–one sessions available on request.
Instructor Lauren Earley, who previously worked at the former Ebru Evrim studio on James Street, which closed in April, said:
We all shared the same passion for bringing hot yoga and hot pilates back to Harrogate, and it's been amazing to see that vision come to life. We're incredibly excited to open our doors, welcoming both familiar and new faces.
