New schnitzel shop to open in Harrogate
Holy Schnitzel, a Middle Eastern street-food outlet, is set to open in Harrogate this year.
The site, previously occupied by Station News for more than 90 years, has undergone a transformation into a new food outlet under new owner Eyal Martell Hadad.
New signs appeared at the Station Square site, next to Mama Doreen's, this week, heralding the upcoming opening.
Mr Hadad told the Stray Ferret he decided to transition the shop to a food venue to make the most of his experience working in food preparation in Israel. He expects to be able to open within the next two months.
Asked what kind of food residents can expect, he said the menu will offer kebabs, challah schnitzel, falafel, and vegetarian patties.
They will be served in challa bread — a fluffy and enriched dough — or pita, alongside hummus, tahini, roasted aubergine, and amba sauce, which has a tangy, spiced mango flavour.
The shop will be open from 10am to 7pm every day of the week except Saturday.
