Harrogate’s paralympic powerlifter broke the British record twice earlier this month.
Lottie McGuinness completed the feat at the Irish Invitational Para Powerlifting Competition on July 5.
Competing in the women’s 61kg category, Lottie smashed the previous bench-press record of 104kg – first lifting 107kg, then beating her newly-set record with a final lift of 110kg.
Lottie has secured her ranking for the 2026 Commonwealth games in Glasgow, and thinks she has a strong chance of qualifying.
The powerlifter represented Team GB at the Paris Paralympics last year, but just missed out on a podium finish.
The Stray Ferret met with Lottie at her Darley home this week to talk about setbacks, pre-competition rituals, and the 2028 Paralympics.
