The Stone Beck pub, in the Jennyfields area of Harrogate, is due to reopen soon.

The Stone Beck, on Grantley Drive, stopped serving customers on August 4 last year after North Yorkshire police found it did not have a designated premises supervisor, a legal pre-requisite for alcohol to be sold.

Punch Pubs, which operates the pub along with about 1,250 others in Britain, told the Stray Ferret in January it was “working hard” to find a new landlord.

A spokesperson for the company, which owns tenanted and leased pubs, said today:

“The site is due to reopen Monday, February 12. The site has had new windows installed throughout the trading area and a new CCTV camera system. We have a new publican in place.”

However, landlord Alan Evans said:

“The licensing committee want to do some extra due diligence and we hope to open tomorrow.”

Mr Evans added he was planned to transform the Stone Beck into a community pub once it reopened.
