Knaresborough salon becomes third local Saks to close
A national hairdressing chain's third local branch has closed.
Saks Hair & Beauty, which operates as a franchise, closed on the High Street in Knaresborough on October 16.
It comes after Saks in Ripon, which opened in 1992, ceased trading in March 2025 when the owner retired. The Harrogate Saks salon also closed some time ago.
Saks Knaresborough opened in January 2017 and was run by Andrea Moore.
After running the business for just under a decade, Ms Moore said she decided it was time for a fresh start.
She is opening a new salon, called Moore Style, just five doors along Knaresborough High Street.
The new venture will see just her and an apprentice operate as stylists.
Ms Moore said she found it hard to keep staff at Saks because many hairdressers prefer to be self-employed.
Her new salon is set to open on November 12.
The nearest Saks is now in Wetherby.
