Long-established Ripon hair salon closes
A long-established Ripon hair salon that has operated in the city for more than 30 years has closed due to retirement.
The Saks Ripon salon on High Skellgate opened in 1992. Notices with today's date could be seen in the window this morning announcing the closure.

In the notices, owner Lee Kettlewell said:
A massive thank you to the entire Ripon and North Yorkshire community, with huge love and much appreciation to all cleints past and present.
Your loyalty, support and kinsmanship will hold dear to me always, the last 30 years have been an absolute blast!
Referring to his retirement, Mr Kettlewell added:
Retiring is when you stop living at work and start working at living!
I will sincerely miss you all. Best wishes, Lee
