Hoxton North company enters liquidation
The company that traded as Hoxton North – the Harrogate coffee shop formerly on Royal Parade – has called in the liquidators, official records show.
A notice posted on The Gazette, which is the official public record, reveals that I23 Ltd “cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business”, and is to be wound up following a creditors’ voluntary liquidation.
The owner of Hoxton North and director of I23 Ltd, Tim Bosworth, surprised many in March when he announced the business was to close, as the coffee shop was frequently busy and had a loyal following.
He said at the time that the “operating environment and increased ongoing costs for small independent hospitality businesses have become increasingly challenging”.
It is not yet known who I23’s creditors are or how much the company owes.
The Stray Ferret approached Mr Bosworth for comment. He told us:
Everything we had to say was said when we announced the closure. There's nothing really to add.
The liquidators are Gareth James Lewis and Matthew Russell of Lewis Business Recovery & Insolvency in Leeds.
Mr Bosworth also owns pizza bar North Slice, which he opened on Cold Bath Road last year.
