A rising culinary star will become head chef at a luxury Masham restaurant.
Jamie Keeble, star of the BBC’s Great British Menu, has been recruited as head chef at Swinton Estate fresh from Michelin-starred restaurant Mýse.
Chef’s Table, the restaurant within the estate, offers an intimate 12-seat dining experience and is itself featured in the Michelin Guide.
It champions estate-to-plate dining, with a focus on seasonal, local produce – especially from tenant farmers and Yorkshire producers.
Mr Keeble joins the estate having also worked at Michelin-starred Lords of the Manor and Ynyshir, as well as being named a National Restaurant Awards Rising Star in 2026.
He said:
Joining Swinton Estate is an incredible opportunity. The connection between the estate, the walled garden and the kitchen provides an outstanding platform to create a dining experience that is personal, memorable and rooted in the seasons.
My cooking celebrates modern British food, inspired by memories, tradition and the exceptional produce we have here in Yorkshire – whether that's using produce from our kitchen garden, tenant farmers or local Yorkshire suppliers. I'm looking forward to joining the team in September, putting my own stamp on Chef's Table and seeing what we can achieve, along with welcoming our first guests in October.
Mr Keeble will succeed former head chef Josh Barnes and his appointment follows the recent arrival of Steve Darou as executive head chef at Swinton Estate, who joined from his role as group head chef at St. John restaurants in London.
The Chef’s Table reopens on October 1.
