Create your own bath bomb

You might not know, but World Poetry Day is on Friday, and Lush in Harrogate is holding a unique event in its honour.

Encouraging kids and grown-ups alike to slow down, have a go at making your very own bath bomb at this event.

Each one will have a specially selected poem in it, thanks to Lush’s Poetry Pharmacy, an initiative set up by poet Deborah Alma, which is aimed at ‘dispensing’ poetry to soothe, comfort, challenge, excite and entertain.

Go to a piano concert

The prize-winning young pianist Amiri Harewood returns to Harrogate by popular demand on Sunday morning.

Currently studying at the Royal College of Music on a full scholarship, he will perform a programme of pieces of music by Auerbach, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Bach and Brahms at The Old Swan Hotel.

It's sure to inspire aspiring musicians of all ages, and the recital is part of this year’s Harrogate International Sunday Series.

Visit Goldsborough Hall's gardens

Goldsborough Hall in Knaresborough is opening its gardens to the public on Sunday, in aid of the National Open Garden Scheme.

Visitors can expect to see colourful displays from its spring bulbs, the woodland walk and a stroll up the quarter-mile long Lime Tree Walk that's lined by a carpet of more than 50,000 daffodils.

There will also be garden talks in the Kitchen Garden at 12pm and 2pm by Goldsborough Hall’s head gardener, and a plant stall on the terrace too.

Hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and scones can be purchased in the Orangery.

£7.50 per adult, children free, dogs on the lead are welcome, 11am-4pm, March 23, Goldsborough Hall, Knaresborough, HG5 8NR.
