From Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th October, The Knaresborough Players will be performing Willy Russell’s timeless British classic “Educating Rita”.
When married hairdresser Rita enrols on a university course to expand her horizons, little does she realise where the journey will take her. Her tutor Frank is a frustrated poet, brilliant academic and dedicated drunk, who’s less than enthusiastic about taking Rita on, but when these two people come together they soon realise how much they have to teach each other.
Written by one of our greatest ever playwrights Willy Russell, this hilarious and heart-warming comedy won the Olivier Award when it was produced in London’s West End by the RSC and was adapted into the multi award-winning film which starred Julie Walters and Michael Caine.
This show contains strong language.
There will be performances at 7.30pm each evening with a matinee performance at 2pm on Saturday 19th October.
Tickets are £10 (£8 concessions). Doors open 30 minutes before the performance start time.
This amateur production of “Educating Rita” is presented by arrangement with
