Go to Feva festival

Feva in Knaresborough starts on Friday.

The annual arts festival hosts a range of free and paid-for events such as live music, spoken word and art exhibitions, and is taking place from August 8-17.

First held in 1996, it's one of the town’s main events of the year, with many shops decorated in promotional pink as part of a window competition organised by Knaresborough and District Chamber.

Picnic in the Park, a free afternoon event featuring live bands and DJs, is taking place next Saturday, August 16.

Enjoy a pint or two at Harrogate Brewing Co’s beer festival

Harrogate Brewing Co is hosting its Hookstone Hooley this weekend.

Welcoming three new guest breweries to the festival, each brewery will have their own pop-up bar.

There will also be live music and two street food vendors. Sunday will be ‘Family Day’ where there will be outdoor games and a face painter.

Various prices, see website for details, 5-11pm on August 8, 12.30-5.30pm and 6-11pm on August 9, 2-8pm on August 10. Children are permitted to attend the Saturday and Sunday day sessions, Harrogate Brewing Co – Taproom, HG2 7HW.

The VW show returns to Harewood House again this summer and this year is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

With a full weekend of live entertainment, music and VWs galore lined up for visitors, all with a laid-back atmosphere, the show offers something for all of the family.

Whether you've got a day ticket or weekend entry, it also includes access to the House, Gardens and Adventure Playground.

Visit Saint Michael’s Hospice’s garden

This Sunday Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate is holding its much-loved Open Garden event.

Visitors can see the hospice garden in full bloom, while enjoying a cup of tea. Its volunteer gardeners will also be on hand to showcase their work and share handy hints and tips that you can recreate at home.

Browse plant and preloved stalls, enjoy live music, family activities, and refreshments on the terrace.

Entry is free with donations for refreshments welcome, only assistance dogs are permitted, 10am-12noon, August 10, Saint Michael’s Hospice, Harrogate, HG2 8NA.

Attend Ripley Show

Ripley Show is one of the key events of the year, featuring its usual events of cattle, sheep, fleeces, horses and ponies, heavy horses, donkeys and driving classes.

There will also be a fun dog show, terrier racing, giant tortoises, a hound parade, vintage cars and tractors on display. Outside of the showings, there will be farm produce and handicrafts for sale, and workshops for the grown-ups including, baking, sewing and gardening, and fancy dress for the kids.

Free for under 5s, children from £6.45, adults from £12.95, £30.95 family ticket of two adults and three children, from 8.30am, August 10, Ripley Castle Park, HG3 3EA.
