Earlier today, police issued a CCTV appeal of a man they wanted to speak to.
In an update, police said they have identified the man. We have amended our coverage to anonymise his details.
Officers said the incident happened at 3.20am on February 2 this year at the restaurant on Cambridge Road.
North Yorkshire Police has issued a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the criminal damage incident.
A force statement added:
Please contact us if you recognise the man pictured on CCTV, as he may have information that will assist our investigation.
