The Harrogate Spring Flower Show got underway this morning at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre, and Harrogate BID (business improvement district) was there to promote the town’s business community.
The show attracts thousands of visitors to the town every year, so the BID team is using it as an opportunity to highlight some of its events and campaigns coming up over the next few months, including the Harrogate Celebration of Fashion in May, the Floral Summer of Celebration in July and the Lego Trail in August.
Matthew Chapman, chief executive at Harrogate BID, said:
We’re so pleased to have the chance to showcase our town to so many people during the Spring Flower Show every year. If you spot our stand, make sure you come along and say hello!
We’re always looking to highlight our town as a floral destination and enhance our renowned heritage – and this show is one of the main contributing factors to doing just that.
I’d like to personally thank Nick Smith of the Harrogate Flower Shows and members of the Harrogate in Bloom group for their ongoing support and partnership work.
Last year, the partnership between the BID, Flower Shows and Harrogate in Bloom took home three Gold prizes at the Yorkshire in Bloom awards, and the judges described horticultural standards in Harrogate as “outstanding”.
The groups involved in the partnership are hoping to repeat their success at this year's Britain in Bloom awards, set to be held in October.
The BID holds a Floral Summer of Celebration event annually, featuring a floral trail with a new theme every year. Last year’s theme was ‘Friendship’. Further details about 2025’s floral celebration will be revealed over the coming months.
