One of Harrogate's most well-known public figures, Brian Dunsby OBE has sadly died at the age of 84.
Mr Dunsby was a former Chief Executive of Harrogate Chamber of Commerce but also tirelessly campaigned for improved rail services and set up the former Christmas market in Montpellier with his wife Beryl.
Brian who was a serial entrepreneur, helped to manage small businesses, trade associations and professional institutions for more than 40 years.
He was instrumental in successfully campaigning and bidding for more direct Harrogate to London trains, as well as upgrading services on the Leeds-Harrogate-York line.
In 2017 Brian was awarded an OBE for services to business and the community in Harrogate. He retired in 2018.
