A Harrogate man has admitted growing more than 30 cannabis plants at a house in the town.
Alexander Banner, 39, appeared at York Crown Court yesterday (April 25) when he pleaded guilty to producing a Class B drug at a property in Mount Street, off Leeds Road.
He was arrested after police executed a drug warrant on March 21.
The court heard that Banner, of Freesia Close, had cultivated 36 plants at the cannabis factory but his defence counsel said it was an “unsophisticated” grow.
Recorder Nicholas Lumley KC adjourned sentence for a probation report and released Banner on bail but told him: “I’m not making any promises about what will happen to you.”
Banner will be sentenced on June 6.
Cannabis seized by police.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement last month that officers from its neighbourhood policing team executed a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an unnamed address in Harrogate.
The statement said the officers “found and subsequently seized a large quantity of cash and cannabis plants” and a man was arrested.
