A man has been jailed for assaulting a police officer at Harrogate District Hospital.
Nathan Butler, whose address is listed as HMP Hull, pleaded guilty to one offence of assaulting an emergency worker by beating at York Magistrates Court yesterday (June 3).
According to court documents, Butler assaulted the named police constable, who was going about his duties, at the hospital on March 15, 2024.
The 31-year-old was sentenced to four weeks behind bars.
The offence is so serious only a custodial sentence can be justified, court documents say, adding he is also currently a serving prisoner.
