A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision at Ripley today (March 29).
Police, firefighters and the air ambulance were called to the B6165 Ripley Road at 12.01pm.
They were responding to an incident involving a Black Audi Q5 and BMW S100R motorcycle, according to a North Yorkshire Police statement.
The statement said:
Following the collision the rider of the motorcycle sustained significant injuries and was taken to hospital where they remain in a serious condition. The driver of the Audi Q5 is assisting us with our enquiries.
The road remained closed for several hours to allow for investigation work to take place at the scene.
The road eventually reopened at 6.30pm.
The statement added:
We’re now appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dash-cam footage that has not spoken with officers to contact us.
