A new Indian restaurant will officially open its doors in Harrogate tomorrow (May 18).
Jodhpur, which markets itself as a “tribute to the rich culinary heritage of Jodhpur city”, has taken over the Station Parade unit formerly occupied by Nutrition Joe’s.
The café, which was also known as NJ’s, entered liquidation last October.
The Harrogate restaurant will be a sister site to Jodhpur in Burley, Leeds, which opened just 18 months ago.
Jatinder Singh, who founded Jodhpur with his brother Satendar, previously told the Stray Ferret he expected the restaurant to open at the end of April, but a spokesperson this week confirmed operations will begin tomorrow (Sunday).
They added:
Following the success of our first Jodhpur restaurant on Kirkstall Road in Leeds, we’re excited to bring the same vibrant experience to Harrogate with our second branch.
The new location captures the beautiful Jodhpur vibes through its interior and music, and we’re proud to serve traditional Indian food made with care.

When the Stray Ferret previously asked Jatinder why the brothers chose to expand to Harrogate, he told us:
There are good clients – good people – in Harrogate. We get a lot of customers from Harrogate coming to our Leeds restaurant already.

Customers can look forward to a variety of curries, including makhani, tikka masala, madras and kolhapuri, as well as dosas and biryani dishes.
Jodhpur's menu even has an “Indo-Chinese” section.
The Harrogate branch will open from 5pm on weekdays – excluding Tuesday, when it is closed – and from 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Doors will open at 1pm tomorrow.
