A well-known homeware retailer will open its doors in Harrogate next month.
Søstrene Grene has taken over the Cambridge Street unit formerly occupied by Cosy Club, and shoppers can look forward to its official opening on Friday, June 6.
The local branch will be the fifth of its kind in Yorkshire and one of more than 330 stores globally.
The first 100 shoppers will receive a voucher for a rug worth more than £60, as well as tote bag filled with branded products.
There will also be live performances from a classical string trio and ballerinas at the Harrogate store opening.
The company has taken over a vacant unit on Cambridge Street.
Inspired by the Danish concept of hygge, Søstrene Grene markets itself as offering a calming shopping experience.
The company, which was founded in 1973, stocks a wide range of homeware including furniture and accessories, stationery, toys and arts and crafts equipment.
Søstrene Grene last month told the Stray Ferret the Harrogate store will create 16 jobs.
We previously asked the company why Harrogate was chosen as a location.
Jonathan Cooper, a joint venture partner for the UK, said at the time:
Harrogate is an iconic town in the heart of Yorkshire, rich in history, with the ideal demographics for a craft-focused brand like Søstrene Grene. It felt like a natural step for the brand.
The opening comes as part of the company’s plans to open 100 new stores by 2030.
Mr Cooper, who operates Søstrene Grene stores across the north of England, today added:
We are thrilled to finally announce the upcoming grand opening date for our Harrogate store. It is an especially exciting time for us as we continue to expand the brand’s presence across the north of England throughout 2025 and we think this is the perfect location for the latest store.
We’ve already received such a great reaction to the initial announcement and think it will make a brilliant new addition to the high street offering. Our opening morning celebration is not one to be missed, with an exciting morning planned against the beautiful and historic backdrop of Harrogate.
The local branch will open at 9.59am on June 6.
