The streets of Harrogate will be taken over by roaming performers this weekend.

Funded by Harrogate Business Improvement District (BID), production company MarkMark will host a series of performances across the town throughout August, starting this Saturday (August 2).

Harrogate BID works to increase footfall across the town centre, and today said MarkMark performers will also return at Christmas and Halloween.

Bethany Allen, operations and projects executive at Harrogate BID, added:

We can’t wait for the marvellous MarkMark team to bring an exciting into our town for another summer!

Not only that, they will be bringing their positive vibes at more key times of the year including Halloween and Christmas.

Keep an eye out around town over the coming weekends and you’ll see the actors in their dazzling costumes. Make sure you stop and say hello.

Last year’s local performances included a tale of lost explorers searching to find out more about Harrogate, as well as Team BGee, who danced along to some Bee Gees favourites.

The street performances come as part of Harrogate BID’s ‘A Vibrant Town’ initiative, which aims to bring a lively atmosphere to the town and create "the best first impression possible for visitors".

MarkMark performers will also take over local streets on August 16 and August 30.
