Danish chain home furnishing store Søstrene Grene will open its doors at 10am on Friday at 37 Cambridge Street in Harrogate.
Founded in Denmark in 1973, it sells homeware products such as furniture, DIY items and materials for arts and crafts.

The store focuses on the Danish concept of hygge, which relates to cosiness and warmth, and was founded by sisters Anna and Clara Grene, and you can browse its products in the Harrogate shop from 9.59am on June 6.
And the first 100 visitors will even receive a voucher for a free tufted rug too. Bonus.

The Saints Coffee in Harrogate is hosting a quiz this Saturday afternoon.
Test your general knowledge with a social afternoon – all ages are welcome, and attendees can either register as individuals or as a group.
There will be prizes to be won, and drinks and snacks will be available to purchase too.

Boroughbridge-based Andrea Mosey is just one of 200 artists who will be exhibiting her award-winning work over the North Yorkshire Open Studios weekends in June.
This weekend is the first opportunity to visit local artists’ studios as part of an annual initiative.
North Yorkshire Open Studios provides an opportunity for artists to meet people and promote and sell their work directly to the public.
The event, which is in its 18th year, features work by more than 200 artists across the county and takes place across the first two weekends of June.

Organised by the Yorkshire Vintage Association in conjunction with Newby Hall & Gardens in Ripon, it makes a fun day out for all the family, as there will also be entertainment, crafts and food and drink.
Tickets also include access to Newby Hall’s gardens, adventure playground, dolls' house and teddy bear exhibitions.

The Family Festival will be taking place in Kirkby Malzeard
Kirkby Malzeard is holding its Family Festival this Sunday.
From the family fun games that include a wheelbarrow obstacle and water sponge course, a tug of war and egg throwing games to a dog show, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained. There's also the 10km-ish Crackpots Trail Run, though the 200 entries have almost sold out.
There will also be stalls selling gifts and food and drinks, and live music throughout the day and into the evening.
