A person had to be transported to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a Harrogate home last night (April 9).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s incident log said crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough responded to reports of a kitchen fire at 10.05pm last night.
One casualty was given oxygen therapy by the emergency services and taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The log added the blaze caused “about 50% fire and smoke damage to the room”.
Fire crews extinguished the flames using a hose reel, breathing apparatus, positive pressure ventilation, small tools and a thermal imaging camera.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, the fire service said.
