Offering quick-fire games for different levels, followed by prize giving and a trophy presentation, attendees can also enjoy a complimentary drink afterwards.

Watch The Wizard of Oz

The Harrogate Phoenix Players are presenting the timeless classic The Wizard of Oz at Harrogate Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday this week.

The beloved musical tells the enchanting story of Dorothy, who is whisked away to the magical Land of Oz. Joined by her friends Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, she embarks on a quest to find her way home, discovering the true meaning of friendship and courage along the way.

With memorable songs, vibrant costumes and captivating performances, it's perfect for audiences of all ages. But be quick; some tickets have already sold out.

Go to a spring show

Ripon Cathedral is holding its Spring Food, Home and Garden Fair on Saturday.

The day will be filled with food and drink to buy, home furnishings and garden plants and accessories, while there will be four local singing groups who will be performing throughout the day.

In the morning there will be a ‘What to Do in Your Garden’ talk from Cathy Kitchingman and Georgina Bordewich, then after lunch a reading from Reggie from the Hedgie storybook and finally, in the afternoon, the Ripon Cathedral Flower Guild will be doing a demonstration on how to use seasonal flowers and foliage to create spectacular arrangements.

Free for under 16s, £6.13 per adult, 10am-4pm, March 29, Liberty Court House, Minster Road, Ripon, HG4 1QT.

Celebrate Mother’s Day

This Sunday is Mother’s Day, so treat your mum or your mothering figure to a gift from one of the many shops in the district, a big bouquet from an independent florist, or a meal at a local restaurant.

There are also lots of events taking place, including two Mamma Mia!-themed events at Banyan, a Molton Brown Mother’s Day-themed brunch and another Mamma Mia!-themed singalong event at Mama Doreen’s.

There's also afternoon tea with live drawings from Maddy Salgado Art at The Sun Pavilion (pictured above).
