It was another jam-packed week for the lifestyle team, bringing the stories from individuals, businesses and charities from the Harrogate district to the fore.
Our weekly round-up of things to do in the district at the weekend featured everything from al fresco pizza to ghost-hunting in Ripon. Make sure you keep an eye out for the regular column every Wednesday, for even more inspiration.
Last weekend, we published two features focusing on some well-known local charities. First up was Open Country, highlighting how it is bringing the countryside to people's homes, through audio guided walks.
On Sunday we turned our attention to Henshaws, and the ongoing Art Anonymous sale, which sells paintings by famous artists directly alongside work from students of Henshaws arts programme, all for £100.
We also covered how The Little Ripon Bookshop is celebrating Black History Month and brought readers the news that Knaresborough's historic Sallyport tunnels will be open this October half term.
Our theatre writer Lauren Crisp managed to catch two performaces last week, for very different plays. Find out what she thought of Sanctuary and The Haunting of Hill House, and look out for future reviews covering more plays, musicals and performances showing in the region.
This week is shaping up to be just as busy; after receiving an influx of images capturing some magnificent stags and deer at Studley Royal Deer Park and in the Yorkshire countryside, we created a gallery so that our readers could enjoy the pictures too.
Remember, you can send your photographs of the Harrogate district to letters@thestrayferret.co.uk for a chance to be selected for Photo of the Week.
We've got another local history spotlight feature planned for this weekend, and the subject this time is John Richard Walbran, the wine merchant, archaeologist, historian, twice mayor - and famous introvert.
Finally, by subscribing to the Stray Ferret, readers can enjoy a range of fantastic exclusive offers, discounts and giveaways from local businesses, which we regularly update.
