The Stray Ferret spent the morning at Harrogate Magistrates Court on Thursday (June 5).
We sat through hearings, which included cases of drug-driving, theft and criminal damage.

A man admitted to driving whilst under the influence of cocaine at Harrogate Magistrates Court on Thursday (June 5).
Ethan Anderson, of Roecliffe Drive in Minskip, pleaded guilty to one offence of drug-driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and driving a vehicle when the load or passengers was likely to cause danger.
According to court documents, Anderson drove a car on Aismunderby Close in Ripon whilst under the influence of cocaine on March 9 this year.
A sample later recorded 32 micrograms of cocaine per litre of his blood – the limit being just 10 micrograms.
Anderson was also driving without a licence and insurance at the time.
When driving a Ford Focus on the same day on the same road, the 25-year-old carried a number of passengers deemed dangerous to people inside the car or on the road.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Anderson will return to Harrogate Magistrates Court for sentencing on August 7.
Sonia Hastings denied one offence of theft from a shop on Thursday.
Ms Hastings, of Baileys Lane in Leeds, is accused of stealing three coats and three T-shirts from TK Maxx at St James Retail Park in Knaresborough.
The goods were valued at £330.
The alleged offence took place on February 13 this year.
A trial date was set for October 9, when the 50-year-old will return to Harrogate Magistrates Court.
Aimee-Louise Bentley-Taffinder denied one offence of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
Ms Bentley-Taffinder, of Ellenthorpe Lane in Ellenthorpe, is accused of damaging a sliding glass door at Asda on Harrogate’s Bower Road on October 4 last year.
The alleged damage caused was valued at £250.
The 21-year-old defendant will return to court on October 9 for trial.
