People living in the HG4 postcode area were treated to a day of free to attend family-focused activities at locations across Ripon on Saturday.
The Sights and Sounds of Ripon event - a partnership initiative supported by the My Neighbourhood, Your Community scheme - provided a platform to celebrate the work of charities and other organisations, that add to the quality of life in the ancient city.
Dozens of voluntary groups gathered at Ripon Cathedral to showcase their activities, while the city's Workshouse, Prison & Police and Courthouse museums were open free of charge to local residents.
Ripon Library hosted a number of activities for children and a talk by Antony Prince, author of Forged in War: Ripon Army Camp about the huge military facility that was based on the outskirts of the city during World War One.
Saturday's event, which also provided an opportunity to see Ripon's rich regalia in the Mayor's Parlour at Ripon Town Hall, attracted people of all ages.
