We are looking for a media sales executive to join our commercial team. The role includes selling advertising and media space to clients and potential clients and managing the relationship – including working with colleagues to ensure the account runs smoothly and delivers the desired outcomes.
The role requires a basic understanding of marketing to help sell all the options available on the Stray Ferret to clients.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Ensuring a comprehensive understanding of available options and the pricing
- Contacting businesses and other potential clients to build sales pipeline via phone, email, LinkedIn or visiting in person
- Ensuring the CRM system is kept up to date with contact information and deals etc
- Creating proposals following initial contact which delivers a perfect campaign in terms of outcomes and budget
- Managing and developing strong relationships with existing clients to deliver a first-class service
- Working to a monthly sales target which may require working outside normal business hours when necessary to achieve this eg, attendance at networking events
- A creative thinker who listens to the client’s need to develop a promotional campaign which meets the client’s expectations
- Attention to detail is paramount in this role – being able to put together well thought out proposals is important
- Excellent commercial awareness
- IT literate with a good understanding of social media and how it works
- Experience of working on WordPress is desirable
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the commercial team
- Be able to manage a number of priorities without it affecting service delivery
