A man who had a balaclava and screwdrivers in his possession pleaded guilty to going equipped for burglary in Knaresborough yesterday (July 29).
John Greenwood, of Recreation Crescent in Holbeck, Leeds, also admitted one offence of possession of cannabis – a class B drug – during the hearing at York Magistrates Court.
Both offences took place just a day before Greenwood appeared in court (July 28).
According to court documents, Greenwood had items for use in the course of, or in connection with, burglary at an undisclosed address in Knaresborough.
These included a black balaclava, gloves, screwdrivers and mole grips – also known as locking pliers.
He was also found with a quantity of cannabis at the time.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Greenwood, 41, was remanded in custody until August 18, when he will be sentenced at Leeds Magistrates Court.
