If you’ve not yet been to the afternoon tea institution that is Mama Doreen’s, Mother’s Day is the opportune occasion. Mums and guests alike are sure to be wowed by the oh-so pretty décor, the fabulous vintage crockery and, of course, the sweet and savoury delights.
Can’t get a table? Then there’s the Mother’s Day takeaway option. Or looking to go slightly further afield? You’re in luck – the emporium has recently expanded to York. Bonus.

Having recently opened, Rhubarb may not have a specific Mother’s Day menu but it’s still very much worth shouting about.
Offering an 11-course tasting menu with optional wine pairing (as well as an à la carte and set menu), the culinary experience is what Harrogate has been after for a while and is bringing a fresh new fine dining perspective to the town. Mums are sure to feel well and truly treated.

As well as a three-course set menu from £27.50, The Kestrel is also offering a Mother’s Day brunch.
Mum can take her pick from a decadent dish including eggs royale, pulled beef brisket hash or opt for a classic full English breakfast, all washed down with either a glass of fizz, juice or a hot drink. Perfect.

Looking for a café with a difference? Then How Stean Gorge is a must-visit. People-watch from the huge floor-to-ceiling glass walls and partial glass floor and see visitors undertake some of the activities the Gorge has to offer all the while catching glimpses of the dramatic Yorkshire Dales.
The revamped café is offering a tasty Mother’s Day menu with three mains to choose from: roast beef with all the trimmings, seared sea bass, and wild mushroom risotto as well as a choice of four desserts. What’s more, mums eat free with every table of four who dine from the two-course set menu.
