A Danish home furnishing store is set to open in Harrogate.
Søstrene Grene will operate in the former Cosy Club premises at 37 Cambridge Street. Notices in the windows say that the store will be opening soon.
The chain, which was founded in Denmark in 1973, sells homeware products such as furniture, DIY items and equipment for arts and crafts.
The stores focus on the Danish concept of hygge, which relates to coziness and warmth.
The company has more than 300 stores in Europe, including sites in notable UK locations such as Leeds, Manchester and York.
The company was founded by sisters Anna and Clara Grene. The store’s website says it aims to spread the message about “creativity, aesthetics and joy, which are at the heart of Søstrene Grene”.
The news comes after the firm announced expansion plans in Yorkshire as part of a wider strategy to open 100 UK stores by 2030.
Cosy Club closed in April last year.
The Stray Ferret previously reported that the bar had not performed as well as expected, with the manager saying the site was “too large” for them to make any money.
The Stray Ferret contacted Søstrene Grene for comment, but at the time of publishing had not received a response.
