More than 800 scientists are expected to gather in Harrogate next month.
Scientists from around the world will convene in Harrogate on December 10 at the British Pharmacological Society annual meeting.
The event will be held at the Harrogate Convention Centre and Crown Plaza this year.
The British Pharmacological Society was founded in 1930 in Oxford and now has over 4,000 members from over 60 countries.
Members are scientists, doctors and academics working on discovering new medicines, therapies, and technology to help improve human and animal health.
The Annual Meeting allows members to share their research latest discoveries. The society has generally held a meeting at least once a year since 1930.
President of the British Pharmacological Society, professor Sir Mark Caulfield said:
The Annual Meeting is the pinnacle of the Society’s calendar – it’s an unrivalled chance for our members to meet and share the latest science, which will help develop the medicines of the future. This is our first Christmas meeting in several years, and we thought: where better to showcase the magic of a British Christmas to our members from around the world than Harrogate?
As well as a packed three-day programme of talks and seminars, our members are looking forward to enjoying relaxing in Harrogate and catching up with colleagues and friends. We’ve highlighted the rich history of the town to our international delegates, and we’re looking forward to sampling the best places to eat, drink and shop as well as visiting the Christmas market.
