The Cock O’ the North showjumping winner and supreme champions were crowned on the third day of the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate.
The showjumping provided a nail-biting finish to the day in the main ring.
It featured three of Yorkshire’s Whitaker showjumping dynasty and last year’s Wetherby-based winner among the six in the jump-off against the clock.
Final honours went to William Whitaker on Millfield Quickstep in 42.28, with Sammie Jo Coffin on Chaccomo Blue second and Joe Whittaker on Hulahupe Jr in third. Senior Whitaker John thrilled the crowd with the fastest round of the day but had one down to come fourth.
A Texel yearling was crowned supreme sheep champion at his first ever outing at the show.

Farmer Charlie Boden, from the family-run Sportsmans Farm at Stockport, said it is always the hope you win at the Great Yorkshire Show. He said: “It is the shop window. You want to come here to win but never expect it. It is the first time he has been here and the competition has been strong this year, there are some good sheep.”
The supreme reserve sheep was a Beltex shearling ewe from Jeff, Sue and son Steve Wilkinson from Richmond, North Yorkshire.
In the cattle section, the supreme beef championship went to a group of Simmental cattle who have proved a major hit with cattle fans this week. The Barlow Brothers’ Simmental Denizes Trixie-Bell 16 has triplet heifer calves in a one in 800,000 chance and took the Simmental breed championship yesterday. John Barlow said taking the top prize was “magical”.
Five dairy cows came forward for the supreme dairy championship. Judge Meurig James chose J and K Robinson and the Coates family’s Holstein junior cow, Futureproof Sidekick Squaw as champion.
Supreme champion pig went to Large White Tedfold Viking 1, from West Sussex.
The Price Equine Supreme In-hand title went to Miss S Roberts’ small hunter brood mare Kings Mistress with foal at foot, shown by Hannah Owen.

Show director Rachel Coates said: “Despite being a long-term exhibitor myself, I remain hugely impressed by the standard of the livestock at the show and the dedication and hard work of all those who produce them."
