Plans to open a specialist eye health clinic in Harrogate have been submitted to North Yorkshire Council.
A nationwide specialist eye care provider has submitted documents to operate at Grove Park Court, which is off Grove Park Terrace.
Newmedica plans to open at unit two of the industrial estate, in a unit previously occupied by medical equipment supplier MRI Devices.
According to its website, it cares for over 165,000 NHS and private patients a year in 29 locations across England, including a practice in Leeds.
Its website says the compaby works alongside "the NHS, as well as local GPs and opticians, to help treat and manage a range of advanced eye conditions in local communities – and taking some of the pressure off busy waiting lists".
Newmedica plans
A Newmedica spokesperson said:
Newmedica in Leeds plans to open an outpatient clinic in Harrogate later this year to improve access to advanced eye care services for local residents. We look forward to being able to announce further details soon, once all arrangements for this planned opening are finalised.
The planning documents seek permission for advertising signs, parking kerb signs and designated bin storage.
North Yorkshire Council is yet to decide on the planning application.
