A warm space session in Knaresborough for people who struggle to afford to heat their homes has been cancelled — because the boiler has broken down.
Knaresborough Town Council introduced the warm space at Knaresborough House this month.
Residents can visit for free and enjoy a hot drink and a chat between 10am and 12pm each Wednesday.
It is one of multiple venues offering warm spaces in the Harrogate district.
But the town council announced yesterday that today's (January 22) gathering had been cancelled.
A post on the council’s social media page said:
The boiler at Knaresborough House has broken and there is no heating in the building, therefore it is with regret that Knaresborough Town Council are cancelling the Warm Space Wednesdays at Knaresborough House tomorrow 22nd January.
Hopefully the boiler will be fixed soon, and we can resume our warm space Wednesdays.
