Drivers from Yorkshire and Humber have been named the most reckless in the UK in a report based on numerous freedom of information requests,
The requests were made to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency by used car firm Available Car.
The results are detailed in this report, which reveals which locations have accumulated the most points on their licenses.
Yorkshire and The Humber was named as the region with the most driving licence points.
In the region there are 2,152,506 licence holders and 178,108 of those drivers have points on their licence, equating to 8.27%.
Halifax topped the table, with 13.2% of drivers carrying points on their licences.
The Stray Ferret requested additional data from Available Car for a breakdown of the number of drivers with licence points specifically in the Harrogate district.
In Harrogate there are 71,225 licence holders and 5,279 (7.41%) have points on their licence.
Ripon has 19,438 licence holders while 1,316 (6.77%) have driving points.
Knaresborough appears to have fewer reckless drivers, with 946 drivers currently having points out of 14,712 licence holders (6.43%).
Boroughbridge, Masham, and Pateley Bridge were not named in the study.
Pamela Murdock, vehicle expert at Available Car, said:
Yorkshire and the Humber is a large and diverse region that includes urban areas, rural roads, and major motorways. The mix of road types can lead to different driving challenges.
Urban areas like Leeds and Sheffield see heavy traffic and congestion, leading to more opportunities for infractions such as speeding or running red lights, while its high concentration of rural roads can encourage higher speeds, contributing to speeding violations.
