Firefighters had an unusual assignment today when they were called to rescue a horse stuck in a muddy field.
The horse was stuck on its side at Long Marston, which is on the border of the former Harrogate district and York.
Crews from Tadcaster and Acomb were summoned to the field at 6.53am.
They used large straps and a telehandler, which is like a telescopic forklift, to free the animal.
