High Skellgate, one of the principal routes into Ripon city centre, is closed again this morning following another burst water main.
The road was closed for several days in September because of a fractured pipe and following its repair resurfacing works were carried out.
As with the previous burst, motorists are having to follow diversions which are adding to journey times.
It is not as yet known how long it will take to repair the pipe.
At the time of the September burst pipe, a spokesperson for Yorkshire Water, said:
We understand how inconvenient road closures can be. We apologise for any impact and thank those in the area for their patience throughout.
