Preparation work was carried out in Ripon this morning ahead of the start of the second phase of a £630,000 resurfacing scheme involving city centre roads.
The work beginning today is focused on the southern end of Market Place East and Duck Hill and is scheduled to last until February.
Market Place West and Kirkgate will also be resurfaced in a programme of works scheduled to be completed prior to the Easter holiday.
Phase one of the North Yorkshire Council-funded project began in late October and lasted for 25 days before halting on November 21 for a Chrismas break, which was designed to lessen the impact on trade in the festive period.
It's business as usual in Ripon as the resurfacing project resumes.
Signage is in place to emphasise that Ripon's businesses are open as usual, along with all of the city's seven public car parks.
While resurfacing works are on-going, a number of diversions are in place.
The Transdev 36 bus service will operate from a temporary stop on Fishergate, while the taxi rank is being relocated to Market Place West, except on Thursday market days, when it will be located on the Cathedral Car Park at the back of Sainsbury's.
The Stray Ferret Business Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 13
