North Yorkshire Police has moved to reassure residents after an incident in Great Ouseburn today.
There has been a heavy police presence in the village today.
In a statement just before midday today, the force did not disclose the nature of the incident.
But it said it had been focusing on one address as part of a wider investigation.
The statement said:
Residents in Great Ouseburn may have noticed a lot of police in the village today.
We understand there may be concerns as people wonder what’s happening.
So we wanted to make residents aware that we are currently attending one address as part of a wider investigation.
This investigation is based in a different part of the county and not the village.
We’re also providing local policing in the area, which is there to support residents and the community.
No further information was released.
